Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance program to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance; establish data governance strategies, policies, and frameworks aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to define data governance objectives and priorities; lead the syndication and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
- Partner with Technology First and Second lines of defense on Data Risk Management
- Measure the adoption of data governance policies and business value of data quality improvement; conduct data quality assessments and implement measures to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency for business-critical data
- Stay up to date with data privacy regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations; develop and deliver data governance training and awareness programs; lead data governance and stewardship committees including facilitating discussions on data-related initiatives
- Identify and lead teams to perform root cause analysis of data governance and data quality issues; make remediation business cases and improvement plans; work with business and technology teams to implement data governance tools and technologies
Qualifications:
- Minimum ten years of recent experience as a Data Governance Director or similar leadership role in a large-scale, complex organization
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, computer science, information management, or a related field is preferred; Master's degree from an accredited college or university is highly preferred
- Six Sigma, Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC), Total Quality Management (TQM) or similar continuous improvement experience preferred
- Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive data governance programs
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels (200TEC)
- Demonstrated capability to lead and manage cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving high-performance outcomes; proven ability to lead and manage change initiatives while driving organizational transformation
